Alzheimer’s Disease

Overview

Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common cause of dementia. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder. The condition primarily affects memory and learning. Over time, it interferes with thinking and daily activities. Alzheimer’s typically develops gradually. Early symptoms include mild memory lapses. As the disease progresses, cognitive decline becomes more severe. It mainly affects older adults. The condition involves structural brain changes. Long-term care planning is often required.

What Happens During Allergic Rhinitis?

Abnormal protein deposits form in the brain. These deposits damage neurons and disrupt communication. Brain cells gradually shrink and die. Memory centers are affected first, followed by other cognitive areas. Progressive brain atrophy leads to worsening symptoms.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis includes cognitive assessment and neurological examination. Brain imaging may reveal atrophy patterns. Biomarker testing may support diagnosis in selected cases. Diagnosis is based on clinical criteria and exclusion of other causes.
